Hotel Chocolat limited edition Raspberry Cheesecake hot chocolat sachets

Hotel Chocolat release limited edition Raspberry Cheesecake hot chocolate flakes

1–2 minutes

Hotel Chocolat have just unveiled their latest limited edition hot chocolate flake flavour: Raspberry Cheesecake. Sounds very indulgent, doesn’t it?

The new, limited edition single serve sachets are sold in a box of 10, with each enough to make a 220ml hot choccie. But first you need to become a Hotel Chocolat VIP.ME member – this limited edition variety isn’t on general sale – and only then can you drop £14.95 on 10 sachets. That equates to around £1.50 a drink (rounded up from £1.495).

If you’re not a member, you’ll have to wait until the general release on the 13th of April.

Yiotis Panagiotou, Specialty Cocoa Chocolatier (Product Development) at Hotel Chocolat, said: “I’ve always noticed that cheesecake flavours overperform because they balance indulgence with a bit of sharpness. That got me wondering what would happen if we turned that into a Velvetiser moment.

“The goal wasn’t to mimic a cheesecake exactly, but to capture that familiar ‘creamy-with-a-kick’ feeling in a way that makes sense as a warm, comforting drink. It’s basically the after?dinner pudding people want, just in a cup instead of on a plate.”

As with many Hotel Chocolat products, the raspberry cheesecake hot chocolate sachets do not contain palm-oil, meaning your hard earned cash is being spent on the ingredients you actually want, not cheap filler ones. Looking more at the ingredients list, the sachets contain full cream milk powder for that extra luxurious creamy taste, and a minimum of 36% cocoa butter.

As the flakes are designed to be used in the brand’s Velvestier, those too poor to own one will need to slowly melt the flakes in 220ml of milk in a saucepan over the hob.

Importantly, for our diabetic readers, 100g of raspberry cheesecake hot chocolate flakes contains 45.4g of sugar. I don’t yet know the breakdown for each individual sachet. I’ll come back and update this article when I find out.
