While food sales might be taking a hit due to the rise in weightloss jabs, drink brands have seen an opening for low-calorie vitamin and mineral infused drinks. Where supermarkets have been revamping their ready meal ranges for GLP-1 friendly sized-portions, Nestle and Volvic have jumped at the opportunity to develop nutrient dense liquids.
Both brands have similar ideas on the purpose of their drinks, to rehydrate and boost energy.
Nestle’s ‘Inspired by Buxton Peak’ range features three drink options: Focus, Immuno, and Recharge, each containing a different selection of vitamins.
- The Focus bottles are lemon and mint flavoured and contain B6, magnesium and 75mg of caffeine, aimed at giving drinkers an energy boost
- The Immuno one is the same, just without the caffeine, flavoured with grapefruit and ginseng
- The Recharge contains more of the B vitamins, including B3, B6 and B12, along with magnesium (again). This one is blackberry & acai flavoured
Those on the weight loss medication will be most tempted by the Recharge option, given B12 is on the ingredient label. (Low B12 is a known issue from being on Mounjaro.)
Each of the Inspired by Buxton Peak bottles is 400ml, the Focus and Recharge contain 9.2g of sugar, 1.2g more than the Immuno bottle. As a result, the Immuno bottle (36kcal) has 4kcal less than the other two.
While Nestle have yet to provide a release date, the Volvic Vitamin Plus will available from the 6th of April (Easter Monday) in most UK supermarkets.
Like Nestle’s range, Volvic Vitamin+ features three sugar-free, vitamin and mineral infused-waters.
The Vitamin Plus has three options:
- Active: Peach flavour, with B5, B7, B12, Biotin, vitamin C, and magnesium
- Awake: Lemon-infused water, with added B5, B6, B9, magnesium and 60mg of caffeine
- Recharge: Raspberry flavoured with B5, B6, B12, vitamin C, and magnesium
Each bottle will cost £2.20 – we don’t yet know how much the Inspired by Buxton Peak drinks will cost.
