Tesco Christmas food range 2025: Garlic potatoes?

Tesco Finest stuffed turkey sliced on a plate

Of all the UK supermarkets, Tesco was the earliest to release their Christmas food range. It was bang smack in the middle of summer when the Tesco Christmas range was published – not a sane soul was thinking of the festive season back then, so the announcement would’ve been met with a mild reception.

Now, however, the weather has turned and other supermarkets are launching their Christmas ranges, so it’s a bit less sad to give you a rundown of what Tesco can offer you for the big day.

In this article, we’ll run through what’s available for Christmas day, from dinner to dessert to snacks, to Tesco’s Free From treats.

Tesco Christmas dinner 2025

Every Christmas plate needs a main, some roasties, a yorkie or three, and a heap of veg, with everything drowned in a hot thick gravy. Yorkshire puddings and vegetables are all much of a muchness, so we won’t cover those here. The meat and vegetarian alternatives and the potatoes are where supermarkets differ.

As we’ve discovered, goose fat roast potatoes are fairly standard. We’ve been taken in by the Tesco Finest Confit Garlic Maris Piper Roast Potatoes, costing three quid a bag.

For the carnivores round the table, you can serve them up the Tesco Finest British Free Range Easy Carve Turkey with a pork, cranberry, and chestnut stuffing. You’ll need to destuff your wallet £40 for it, though.

It won’t help with your budgeting as Tesco has yet to release a price, however if you’re still in the process of sorting your money, then you might be tempted by the Tesco Finest Chef Collection 30-Day Matured Sirloin Wing Rib. Just maybe brace yourself before looking at the price tag. It shouldn’t be more expensive than the beef options in Waitrose’s Christmas range, however.

As usual the pork and gammon options are the cheapest of the meat choices. You can get a British Crackling and Pork Joint for £12/kg. It’s infused with garlic, lemon zest, and sage. Or you can pair your meat with a little tipple and opt for the Maple & Bourbon Gammon Joint for £25.

We didn’t see lamb in Morrisons’ or Asda’s Christmas ranges, so it seems Tesco has gone rogue with their Rolled Lamb Shoulder with a Citrus & Herb Rub. However, Aldi released their range on the 8th of October, and in it, two lamb mains. Tesco has been one upped by Aldi. If you’ve seen lamb in the festive ranges anywhere else, let us know and we’ll correct our articles.

Vegetarian or vegan?

Try the Tesco Finest Chef’s Collection Feta, Spinach & Celeriac Spanakopita with Hot Honey Drizzle, which is essentially a filo pastry pie without a lid. It’ll cost you £20. If you’ve only got one, two, or four who’d be interested in a meat-free main, you can opt for the £9 Tesco Finest Chef’s Collection Potato & Three Cheese Pavé.

As either a side or cheeseboard accompaniment, the Tesco Finest 2 Black Garlic & Truffle Camembert Melts (£3.50) sound an interesting choice

A Free From Tesco Christmas

We know that Christmas is tough when you have a dietary requirement – trust us, half our team are diabetic – so we’ve got in touch with the helpful team at Tesco to find out more about their Christmas sweet treats and desserts. Below, we’ll run through Tesco’s free-from range and tell you which diet they’re good for and which ingredients have been used as the alternatives.

  • Tesco Finest Free From Black Forest Brown Slices, £3.50 – These are rich chocolate brownie slices, flavoured like a classic black forest dessert. The slices aren’t free from milk allergens, but they are gluten-free, trading wheat flour for rice flour and cornflour.
  • Tesco Finest Free From Frangipane Mince Pies, £2.50 – Mince pies, but almond. These are gluten and milk free, substituting the former for rice flour and cornflour and the former for vegetable oils (including palm).
  • Tesco Finest Free From Dark Chocolate Chunks & Pistachio Cookies, £2.70 – We don’t need to tell you what these are, the name on the packet does a good job of that. It’s another gluten-free option, with white flour being swapped for gluten-free oat flour.
  • Tesco Finest Free From Dark Chocolate and Cherry Festive Wreath, £4.50 – Round, flat little chocolates, paired with cherry and topped with sour cherries. It’s free from something, we’re just not sure what. We’ll update this article when we know.

Those with a lactose intolerance would be better off shopping round Morrisons’ Christmas Free-From range. We only included a few in our roundup, but Morrisons have really put some effort into free from this year.

Tesco Christmas 2025 sweet treats and desserts

Lastly, we’ve got the Christmas finale: the dessert. Unlike the free-from range above, there are some centrepiece options, rather than just little treats. Let’s take a look:

  • Tesco Finest 4 Chocolate Hazelnut and Frangipane Tarts, £3.50 –  Buttery pastry filled with rich chocolate sauce and topped with chocolate and hazelnut frangipane.
  • Tesco Finest 4 Chocolate and Gingerbread S’mores Tarts, £3.50 –  Crumbly pastry filled with chocolate sauce, topped with gingerbread sponge and finished with marshmallow flavoured buttercream.
  • Tesco Finest Festive Berry Panna Cotta Snowflake, £16.00 –  The first sharer of all the sweet treats: a berry panna cotta in the shape of something only the part of the UK will see this year.
  • Tesco Finest Salted Banoffee Cascading Star, £14.00 – Another sharer, this time in the shape of something the whole of the UK can see: a nice star. It’s a golden banana sponge with salted caramel sauce.

Tesco Christmas Food to Order dates

Tesco has released their Food to Order range for 2025 and have also announced the dates and time slots you can reserve for a delivery. From the 4th of November, the Food to Order range will be listed online, ready for you to get buying.

Signing up for the more premium supermarket delivery pass doesn’t make a difference in which slots you can book.

Delivery Saver customers get to book slots from 6am on the 4th November until 23:45 on the 14th December. Everyone else has to wait until November 11th.

Anything in your basket that is part of the Festive Food to Order collection will be delivered between the 20-23rd December. Some stores will be open for Click & Collect on the 24th of December, but you’ll need to check with your local store.
