Tesco’s Aldi Price Match goes Express

1–2 minutes

As they say, ‘you pay for convenience’ and that has always been the case at Tesco Express stores where prices are typically higher. From today, 29th April, Aldi Price Match will be rolled out for over 200 products at Express stores up and down the UK.

Speaking about the move, Tesco UK chief executive Ashwin Prasad said: “We know that household budgets are again under pressure, but we are committed to keeping the cost of the weekly food shop affordable for Tesco customers.

“By extending our Aldi Price Match scheme to Express stores we can now give customers the confidence that they can get great prices on a range of everyday products at Tesco, whether that’s in our large stores, online or in more than 2,000 of our local convenience stores.”

Handily, a two-pinter of semi-skimmed milk is included in the Price Match range. Popping to the shop for milk is a common occurence for most families, at least now you won’t get quite as stung by the price.

Being able to access cheaper products on the quick will come as good news for last-minute shoppers, particularly those who a big fans of Tesco. If you haven’t got a local Aldi (a wonderful place where every product is Aldi Price), then shopping the Price Match ranges at other supermarkets can be the only way to save money on your shop, outside of loyalty card discounts.
