M&S build on popular cookie range with new chocolate & cornflake flavour

M&S is having a great year (cyber attack aside). Their clothing range is back to being popular and their cookies come out of the oven and go straight to the till.

M&S has just upped the game: chocolate and cornflake cookies. After Kathryn Turner’s behind the scenes TikTok on the new bakery product, the queues to get a pack have been immense.

But what is so special about them?

As with the other cookie packs, you get five large chewy biscuits (a 395g pack). The Chocolate & Cornflake cookies are made with black treacle – diabetics stop reading – with caramel pieces, cornflakes and dark and milk chocolate. The new creation will set you back £3.25 per pack (if you manage to get your hands on one).

With black treacle in the ingredient list, you can expect a very sweet and sticky cookie. If that’s your thing, get in line with everyone else. If you are happy with a chewy cookie but prefer a regular level of sweetness, the white chocolate and milk versions hit the spot.

Sugar content

Given the 395g pack contains five cookies, we can assume each cookie weighs approximately 79g. Per 100g, there is 39.8g of sugar. Using some GCSE level maths, that means each biscuit contains around 31g of sugar (I’ve rounded down. This calculation also assumes each cookie is identical in size).

Type 2 diabetics might have to avoid, or save for pre-gym or a hiking snack. Type 1s will have to readjust their insulin intakes.

The new chocolate & cornflake cookies are available in M&S Foodhalls now, if you can find them.
