We aren’t rich at Simple & Homely, not by any stretch of the imagination, but we are Ninja people. For 2026, Ninja have launched the FlexFlame with a whopping £1,000 price tag.
If that made you wince, don’t even bother looking at the FlexFlame ProConnect. The ProConnect upgrade tacks an extra £200 to the price tag, but for what? You get the same five cooking functions as the base model, the only real difference is that you can link it up to an app on your phone which can tell you the temperature of your food. For those regularly stood over the BBQ with a temp probe, it might sound tempting, but for most people, the upgrade isn’t worth the extra.
The Ninja FlexFlame range might not be the cheapest or most affordable options, but are they actually a good value BBQ?
Let’s have a look at what a FlexFlame can do.
Cooking functions
Ninja’s FlexFlame is a 5-in-1 cooking system, with functions to Grill, Smoke, Roast, Griddle and Pizza. It’s essentially an outdoor air fryer – pizza oven combo. If you’re most interested in the ability to cook a pizza, there are better value pizza ovens around.
Like an air fryer, you can change the temperature away from the preset; the FlexFlame lets you move in 5C increments from 95C to 315C.
Unless you opt for one of the Ultimate Bundles, you’ll have to buy a pizza stone and peel separately.
What’s in the box?
£1,000 (or £1,200 for the ProConnect) is a lot of money for five cooking functions when you can get a 9-in-1 Ninja air fryer for less than £300. So what else do you get for your money? (Other than the privilege of standing outside getting wet for the sake of a burger.)
In the base model box, you also get:
- Recipe cards
- Instructions
- Grease tray
- Porcelain enamel coated steel indirect Roast and Smoke rack
- Two porcelain enamel cast iron grill plates
- Woodfire Robust Pellet sample pack
- Removable pellet box
For the ProConnect (£1,200), you don’t get any additional surprises in the box. If you opt for the ProConnect Ultimate Bundle (£1,250), you also get a Propane Grill Cover, Full Flat Plate, 16” Perforated Pizza Peel, 16” Artisan Pizza Stone, and a Storage Caddy in the box. Instead of a sample pack of wood pellets, you get two full 900g packs of Ninja Woodfire Pellets All-Purpose Blend and Ninja Woodfire Pellets Robust Blend. That’s a lot of extras for only £50 extra.
Ignoring all of the bundles, ultimately, you can choose between two models and a cooking system, each with their own price point. Even though the bundle may appear cheaper than buying each item listed individually from Ninja, you can always save a heap of dough by buying them elsewhere. Your pizza won’t know whether the stone it’s being cooked on is branded or not.
The FlexFlame (PG301UKBL) is the cheapest at RRP £1,000; the FlexFlame ProConnect is the next up at £1,200; and the top of the ladder is the FlexFlame Cooking System at £1,450.
